Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Dan Thoma, P.E., LEED AP to Vice President. Mr. Thoma recently relocated from San Antonio to Austin and is leading the office’s transportation team, including project strategy and delivery for the Austin area and the I-35 corridor.
“Dan is well versed in TxDOT and municipal procedures and requirements,” said Pape-Dawson Engineer’s Senior Vice President, James Lutz, P.E. “He’s been a leader in our San Antonio transportation department and has played strategic roles on multiple projects, addressing transportation and pedestrian mobility needs throughout the state.”
Mr. Thoma joined Pape-Dawson in 2004. He currently serves as Project Manager for the Hwy 183-A project in Austin, working with TxDOT and other agencies.
“Dan’s commitment to our clients and his dedication to our company and his staff are the reasons for his success,” Mr. Lutz said. “He has been instrumental in the growth of the San Antonio office and we know he will be equally effective in Austin. He is a tremendous asset to the transportation department there.”
Mr. Thoma has shown leadership in the successful development of Foster Road reconstruction for the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority; Schematic and PS&E for SH 211 roadway development; City of San Antonio – Ray Ellison Boulevard expansion; TxDOT – US 183A corridor schematic and PS&E (Austin); San Antonio Medical Center mobility improvements; and TxDOT – US 83 Pharr District.
Mr. Thoma earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2002. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified.
