The Officers of Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc. are pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Michael Preiss to Senior Vice President. In this role, Mr. Preiss will be responsible for technical oversight of the firm’s land development services, and he will continue to take a strong leadership role in the promotion and management of these services throughout the Houston region.
Mr. Preiss joined Pape-Dawson Engineers in 1997 and has more than 18 years’ experience in civil engineering. As the Officer–in-Charge of the Houston Office, he is responsible for managing the civil and environmental teams involved with the design and construction administration of land development, capital improvement, and water resources projects. He has managed the entitlement and development of master planned communities; evaluated feasibility for land acquisition prospects; and coordinated civil engineering, land planning, environmental, and geotechnical services in various aspects of project development.
During his career at Pape-Dawson, Mr. Preiss has successfully led many innovative, high-profile residential and commercial land development projects, such as Bauer Landing, the British International School of Houston, Woodshore Marketplace, as well as various other residential developments, numerous McDonald’s Restaurants in the greater Houston area, the H-E-B Houston Retail Support Center, and City of Arcola water distribution and sanitary sewer expansion projects.
Mr. Preiss has served as the President of the Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 159 since 2004. He has also served on various committees for the American Council of Engineering Companies, the Programs Committee for the Urban Land Institute, and the Project Selection Committee for HomeAid. He is a member of the Association of Water Board Directors.

Mr. Preiss holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
