The officers of Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., are pleased to announce Mr. James Lutz, as Statewide Practice Area Leader of Transportation: Plan Specification and Estimate (PS&E). In this role, Mr. Lutz will be responsible for management and technical oversight of the firm’s PS&E services throughout the State of Texas.
Mr. Lutz serves as a Vice President of Transportation on roadway, highway, and pedestrian hike and bike trail projects involving planning, schematic, and final design; bridge planning; traffic studies; engineering drainage design; and construction administration and observation. Mr. Lutz joined Pape-Dawson Engineers in July 2004 and has 23 years of experience. He has managed numerous transportation projects for the Texas Department of Transportation in 19 Districts, for cities and counties in the central and southern regions of Texas, and for the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (Alamo RMA).
Mr. Lutz served as committee chair and board member for the American Society of Civil Engineers’ local branch and Texas Section and for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). He is also a past board member for the San Antonio North Chamber and is on the University of Texas at San Antonio Civil Engineering Advisory Committee. He is a graduate of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Leadership San Antonio program.
Mr. Lutz holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
