Pape-Dawson completed the site mass grading and is assisting with the completion of the civil construction plans for the 950,000-SF Navistar Assembly Plant. Set to open in spring of 2022, the facility is located on 427 acres, between Mitchell Lake and Highway 281, in the southern part of Bexar County.
Our services include site selection; platting; boundary, topographic and tree surveys; property entitlements; drainage analysis for a City of San Antonio mandatory detention area; hydrologic/hydraulic studies; traffic engineering; and grading, roadway, and utility plans and coordination.
To successfully complete this fast-paced project, two Pape-Dawson project teams worked simultaneously on platting and traffic management plans. We worked with CPS Energy to move three-phase electric lines and install a power substation, currently in construction. We also coordinated with SAWS to construct water and sewer services. Public improvements include planned Highway 281 traffic signals, median cuts, driveway deceleration lanes, and Kelly Parkway extension from Highway 281 west towards Applewhite.
