Vista Ridge Named 2021 Best Project

23 September 2021

Vista Ridge Regional Water Supply project was named a “2021 Best Projects” winner by Engineering News-RecordTexas & Louisiana, a weekly magazine covering the construction industry worldwide. An independent panel of experts reviewed a total of 120 projects, selecting 18 Best Projects and 29 Awards of Merit across 18 categories. The project was selected for the “Best Water/Environment” category.

The Vista Ridge Regional Water Supply project is the largest P3 design-build pipeline project in North American history, featuring 142 miles of pipeline and 18 wells that pull from two different aquifers and three pump station facilities. The project, which took 4.5 years to complete, moves 50,000 acre-feet of water per year from Burleson County to Bexar County. In addition to design and construction, VRRSP Consultant, LLC, and an engineering partnership between Pape-Dawson Engineers and CP&Y, Inc. was responsible for stakeholder coordination, land acquisition, environmental assessment, permitting, and construction administration.

The Vista Ridge Regional Water Supply project has garnered international praise for industry excellence, including North America Water Deal of the Year by IJGlobal and Project Finance International, and Water Deal of the Year by Global Water Intelligence of Spain.

All winning project teams will be celebrated in an awards ceremony hosted by Engineering News-Record Texas & Louisiana in Houston this December.
