Brett Smith Promoted to National Practice Leader, Landscape Architecture & Planning
Nashville, TN (September 23, 2025) – Pape-Dawson is proud to announce the promotion of Brett Smith, PLA, AICP, to National Practice Leader, Landscape Architecture & Planning.
A Tennessee native, Brett brings 35 years of experience in shaping vibrant communities through master planning, park and public project design, and residential and commercial developments. His deep business understanding, strong people skills, and ability to guide teams through complex planning challenges underscore his proven leadership acumen.
Under Brett’s leadership, Pape-Dawson’s Landscape Architecture & Planning practice will continue to work with public and private sector clients to design projects that are as functional as they are inspiring. He will guide teams to deliver a wide range of services, including natural resource assessments, planting & hardscape design, amenity planning, and permitting support.
Throughout his career, Brett led the creation of zoning ordinances and subdivision regulations for multiple jurisdictions, consulted as a county planner, and delivered award-winning designs across both public and private sectors.
Beyond his project work, Brett is an active leader in the AEC industry. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architecture, the American Planning Association, and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council, helping promote the profession both locally and nationally.
