John Tyler Promoted to Managing Principal, Transportation
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (November 24, 2025) – Pape-Dawson is pleased to announce the promotion of John Tyler, P.E., RAS, to Managing Principal, Transportation. John brings more than 20 years of experience in delivering complex roadway, multimodal, and accessibility-focused projects across Texas.
Since joining Pape-Dawson in 2005, John has led transportation efforts in more than100 communities in Texas. He led the creation of the TxDOT Comprehensive Accessibility Program (TCAP) – the first statewide, data-driven accessibility initiative of its kind, now used as an example by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
John hasbeen instrumental in advancing the firm’s transportation strategy, strengthening relationships with key public-sector clients, and supporting growth across Texas. Known for translating complex technical challenges into practical solutions, John has helped elevate statewide standards in accessibility compliance, multimodal planning, and Complete Streets implementation.
In addition to his project leadership, John serves on boards and committees for several local organizations,includingasChairmanof the Comal Appraisal District,Comal ISD’s Community Leadership Committee, andwas appointed to the Civil EngineeringAcademy for Texas Tech University. He has also held leadership roles within ASCE’s Texas Section.
