Granbury Regional Airport
New Runway 1/19 and
Parallel Taxiway
Granbury, TX
We were engaged by the City of Granbury to complete the design package for a new 5,200’ runway and associated parallel taxiway after preparation of plans and specifications had already begun. The project was originally anticipated to include four phases (earthwork, paving, airfield electrical, and fencing), but our team consolidated the project into two phases. Upon review of initial design for the project, we identified and proposed changes that resulted in cost savings of $750K.
Additional responsibilities for this facility included an aerial survey in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars (AC) guidelines and a Master Plan Update to guide future development, which identified the need for a new terminal. We provided design services for an apron to serve the new terminal, reconstruction of an existing roadway to serve as an entry point for the new terminal, and extension of water and sanitary sewer to serve the new terminal area.
