Comanche Trail Hazardous
Roadway Overtopping Mitigation
The Comanche Trail Hazardous Roadway Overtopping Mitigation project included drainage, water, sewer, and pavement improvements on Comanche Trail between Malaga Drive and Marina Drive. Our team replaced an existing 48” culvert crossing with two 32’ by 8’ pre-cast arch culverts to provide 100-year level of service, relocated water and sewer lines, performed site grading, and designed channel improvements including a drop structure and paving improvements.
Arch culverts were selected as opposed to a bridge, providing cost savings. The design included an access ramp for maintenance and a headwall structure that fits into the natural limestone outcrop. We provided utility coordination and impact mitigation for historical stones used in the original drainage structure.
