Great Hearts America

Various Locations in Central Texas

Pape-Dawson has worked closely with the established Great Hearts team during project development to identify site constraints impacting development of various project sites. Each Great Hearts campus required civil engineering construction documents to address the unique needs of the site, including design of public infrastructure, tree and topographical constraints, traffic management, stormwater quality, stormwater detention, limited impervious cover, and other specific regulatory requirements.

Each project involved close coordination with the architectural team for design of traffic queuing patterns, accessible pedestrian routes, private utilities, and recreation areas. Considerations for phasing of primary and secondary schools were integrated into the site design. Entitlements and master planning for Phase 1 projects were completed with design of the overall site in mind. The site grading, drainage, and utility systems were designed for cost-effective Phase 1 construction that could integrate efficiently into Phase 2 construction. Phase 2 projects were designed to blend with existing facilities while maintaining drainage patterns within the parameters of the original design. Additional support was provided for several sites through bidding and construction.

Permitting and platting for these facilities required coordination with local, state, and national authorities for the extension of public utilities, roadway modifications, and floodplain improvements.
