Makita USA Headquarters
Flowery Branch, GA
Pape-Dawson (as Eberly & Associates) provided both civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the new 656,000-SF Makita USA headquarters. The new distribution and warehouse facility also includes 70,000 SF of administrative space, including a service center and training facility.
Due to the size of the proposed facility, a Development of Regional Impact (DRI) and local rezoning were required to approve the size of construction and land use with the local jurisdiction. Also, to provide sanitary sewer service to the site, a new lift station and force main were installed on site that ties directly into the Flowery Branch municipal sewer system.
The buildout also included pad grading for a future expansion of up to 192,000 SF as well as a 100,000-SF outdoor training space for demonstrations and showcases of Makita products. Features within this training area offer a playground for outdoor tool usage. Visitors can find multiple types of turf for lawn mowers, hedgerows for trimmers, pits for blowers, beds for tillers and augers, an obstacle course for wheelbarrows and much more for all types of Makita landscape equipment. The facility is a unique, interactive experience for both employees and customers alike.
