The Highlands is a testament to Pape-Dawson’s mastery in community planning, design, and landscape architecture. This master planned community spans more than 2,300 acres, features 800 acres of lush open space, meandering trails, and a sprawling recreation center.
At the project’s genesis, Pape-Dawson collaborated closely with the developer to craft a comprehensive long-term vision for the community. Our team navigated the entitlement process alongside Montgomery County and delivered a plan that included pathways to traverse major thoroughfares via pedestrian underpasses at strategic junctures, fostering safe passage while creating vital connections throughout the neighborhood.
Our Landscape Architecture team is providing design and construction documents for the monument signs, streetscapes, parks, and open spaces. Phase 1 included the Marketing Trail, over 400 homes, almost 70 acres of lakes, and a 2-acre park on the lake. We continue to work within the over 300-acre floodplain park located along the San Jacinto River.
