Middle Tennessee Electric
La Vergne Substation
La Vergne, TN
Pape-Dawson (as RaganSmith) worked directly with Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE), Power Resources, and TVA on providing preliminary and final site design for construction of this electrical substation. Design included layout, grading, retaining wall design coordination, stormwater quality and quantity, erosion control measures, geotechnical input, environmental input, and utility layout for coordinating the substation’s desired connection points to the existing TVA line and exit lines that serve the community’s power needs. We also worked with MTE and the neighboring landowner to coordinate on subject easements needed for a shared access drive and utility service across the site. We worked alongside MTE and Power Resources to receive permitting approval from the City of La Vergne and State departments. We provided project representation at the City of La Vergne Planning Commission and for all other necessary permitting needs to facilitate construction.
Construction administration and post-construction inspections were also provided to ensure design plans were being followed and final U&O sign-off was approved by all necessary City and State Departments.
