Pape-Dawson has been providing civil engineering and surveying services to IDEA Public Schools since 2016. Our team recognizes the unique needs of charter school design and construction, and has successfully provided feasibility, platting, permitting, design, and surveying services for campuses across Texas including sites in San Antonio, Pflugerville, Kyle, Manor, and Houston.
Permitting and platting for these sites required coordination with local, state, and national authorities for the extension of public utilities, roadway modifications, and floodplain improvements.

Pape-Dawson’s field crew used both GPS and conventional surveying methods to produce a detailed boundary and topographic survey of the 15.4-acre Spears Campus, as well as the adjoining flood control ditch with drainage structures. After careful analysis of field data, a site visit, and exhaustive examination of title records, we found and delineated a pipeline that crossed the site with no easement of record. Our team worked closely with the title company, design engineers, and client to progress this project through these challenges. Our survey team also worked alongside the engineering team and Harris County to abandon a street right-of-way stub previously platted, but no longer needed. We prepared the descriptions and exhibits needed for the abandonment prior to plat recordation as this item was critical to the project timeline.
