US 181 Calaveras Roadway

Pape-Dawson was responsible for the evaluation, design, and construction management of a 2.5-mile roadway at the CPS Energy Power Generation Facility at Calaveras Lake in Southeast Bexar County. The project included 1.5 miles of roadway, a US 181 interchange, and a 3,000’ bridge over Calaveras Lake.

Our CEI services included observation, inspection, materials quality assurance testing, traffic handling, coordination with site owners and stakeholders, and schedule maintenance. We inspected and observed construction of all roadway elements (sub-grade, base, final paving surface, guardrail, drainage structures, striping, and delineation), confirming adherence to plans and specifications, and that all construction methods met industry and federal standards.
