Sienna Regional MUD –
Wastewater System
Regional Improvements
Missouri City, TX
Pape-Dawson was responsible for design, bid, and construction phase services for a new 1.8-MGD membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment plant with ultimate 3-MGD treatment capacity. Improvements include an on-site lift station, headworks, screening, grit removal, biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal, dissolved oxygen control, permeate pumps, chemical feed, blowers, sludge dewatering, and UV disinfection basins.
The project also includes non-potable water storage and connection to a purple pipe irrigation distribution system. We designed the installation of one bolted glass-lined storage tank initially, with provisions for a future ground storage tank (GST). We considered bid alternatives for both welded-steel and glass-lined bolted tanks to obtain the most cost-effective option. We provided transfer pumps at the UV disinfection basin, horizontal split case booster pumps, and a hydropneumatics tank with room for expansion.
