E-54 Sanitary Sewer
The E-54 Sanitary Sewer project will convey up to 15 MGD of sanitary sewer flow to accommodate future flows in the Evans Road and Bulverde Road area and ultimately areas along the US 281 corridor.
The project lies within the upper Salado Creek watershed over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone (EARZ). The project contains 32,183’ of sanitary sewer and force main to serve existing and proposed residential developments. The proposed alignment consists of 34 LF of 36” fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) gravity sewer main, 16,199 LF of 30” FRP gravity sewer main, 645 LF of 24” polyvinyl chloride (PVC) gravity sewer main, 4,028 LF of 21” PVC gravity sewer main, 5,019 LF of 18” PVC gravity sewer main, and 6,258 LF of 20” high-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) force main.
The project includes both open-cut and trenchless construction methods and contains 12 bores/tunnels ranging from 50 to 1,964 LF. The project is designed to allow SAWS to decommission three existing sanitary sewer lift stations by extending gravity mains to a regional lift station.
The project incorporated information provided by our tunnel subconsultant, subsurface utility engineering (SUE) Quality Level A services, geotechnical, environmental, and surveying services. The project is intended to support up to 15,000 existing and future connections over 20 to 30 years.
