Hawaii Oceanic
Cable Landing
Hawaii
Our team provided engineering, environmental, and permitting support for this Hawaii oceanic cable landing project for an international cable system owner. Our team advanced the landing from early planning through construction-ready deliverables for nearshore HDD work and the onshore front-haul route. The scope included six sub-oceanic HDD steel pipes totaling over six miles, and five miles of front-haul outside plant (OSP) conduit with associated manholes. The project required extensive environmental compliance and real estate coordination, including a submerged land lease and five miles of overland easements.
We supported approvals under the Hawaii Environmental Policy Act (HEPA) and Section 106 cultural review, and coordinated permitting with federal and state transportation agencies. We also supported procurement by developing the front-haul and HDD contractor bid list and preparing key bid documents, including technical specifications, general requirements, and pricing schedules.
