As part of Pape-Dawson’s effort to improve key intersections within the South Texas Medical Center, we completed a detailed traffic study of the Sid Katz Drive and Ewing Halsell Drive intersection using current and anticipated land uses. We worked with the City of San Antonio and the Medical Center Alliance to design an intersection configuration to address future traffic needs.
We performed a traffic impact analysis, developed and evaluated alternatives, and provided our final recommendation to utilize urban roundabout design. We also worked extensively with the project architect to incorporate the Medical Center’s theme and signature aesthetic.
