Pape-Dawson has experience with vastly different landscapes. We understand the negative impacts soil erosion can cause, including severe damage to waterways, deterioration of drinking water quality, endangerment of fragile wildlife and ecosystems, and obstructions of lakes and reservoirs. Pape-Dawson has more than 50 years of experience addressing these challenges. We perform surface management of stormwater flow to help mitigate erosion issues, and create innovative soil erosion plans in a cost-effective, regulation-compliant manner, while also preserving the local landscape.
Highlighted Erosion Control/Channel Design Projects
Bauer Landing
Pape-Dawson served as civil engineer for this 424-acre development just outside of Houston, using HEC-HMS and unsteady-state HEC-RAS models to optimize flood mitigation strategies.
San Pedro Creek Channel Design
Pape-Dawson provided critical flood-control solutions to a 1.6-mile corridor of San Pedro Creek in downtown San Antonio.
Callaghan Road
As part of Pape-Dawson’s 1.4-mile roadway widening effort, used HEC-HMS and TR-55 to develop new runoff calculations and HY-8 and HEC-RAS to develop cross-culvert design.
