Dan Zell, P.E., PGMP, PMP, D.WRE, CFM Hired as Vice President, Water Resources

Austin, TX – (May 17, 2023) Pape-Dawson Engineers, LLC is excited to announce the hiring of Dan Zell as Vice President, Water Resources as we continue to expand our presence in Water Resources in Central Texas. Mr. Zell joins Pape-Dawson with 23 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and flood mitigation. In his new role, Mr. Zell will lead Pape-Dawson’s focus on growing drainage and community infrastructure opportunities in the Central Texas market.

 

Mr. Zell has an extensive history in project management, client management, and risk management, as well as service as an advisor to local, state, and federal clients on advanced resiliency solutions. His impressive portfolio of work includes the delivery of FEMA’s base level engineering, Regional Director for FEMA Region 6, flood planning lead for the Texas Water Development Board, and supervision of national dam and levee safety programs. He has also led efforts in flood analysis, post-flood recovery, climate resiliency, complex hydraulics, and dam and levee analysis for the Texas General Land Office, City of Austin, City of San Marcos, and San Antonio River Authority.

Mr. Zell earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and Master of Arts in Economics from John Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. He also serves on the Texas Floodplain Managers Association Policy and Outreach Committee.
