As a result of hurricane Harvey and to help the citizens of Harris County be better situated to handle flooding and plan for the future, Pape-Dawson was responsible for creating a manual to establish guidelines for 2D hydraulic model submittal, review, approval, and permit. The Harris County Flood Control District 2D Guidance Manual will help maintain consistency in approach, parameters, and supporting data used in the engineering community.

As part of the MAAPnext program led by Harris County Flood Control District, Pape-Dawson created peer-reviewed 1D/2D watershed-wide modeling and mapping of existing creek conditions.
Pape-Dawson managed a team of professionals to create Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Bexar, Wilson, Karnes, and Goliad Counties.
