Considering river management and visitor safety, Pape-Dawson completed a feasibility study of the 6-acre site, now home to the DoSeum children’s museum, north of Downtown San Antonio.
To address flood control needs, we designed low impact development features into our grading and drainage design, including more than 1,500′ of interconnected bioswales to manage stormwater. Consequently, Pape-Dawson submitted a conditional letter of map amendment to FEMA and a letter of map revision to remove the building and outdoor exhibits from within the 100-year floodplain.
